A preacher from Nakuru got mad yesterday and cut short his sermon after he got
a cold reception from passengers.
The preacher had boarded the Eldoret Express bus from Nakuru heading to Nairobi and started preaching to the passengers on board. It was his habit and was well known because he plied that route on a daily basis.
As usual he started preaching only to realize that the congregation was ignoring him. Some were sleeping while others were busy telling stories. Some had become bored with his sermon and decided to listen to radio on their phones.
Furious by the cold reception, the preacher cut short his sermon and started attacking the congregation. To get their attention, he ordered them to greet each other as a way of expressing love.
He started lecturing them on the importance of saying amen while he preaches. He threatened that failure to do so will lead to peril. Those who did not say amen were threatened to burn forever in hell.
He told the passengers how he was sweating to bring them salvation yet they ignored him. He threw some threatening verses from the bible of people who were proud and perished.
After the long sermon, the man in his late 50s asked for tithe to present to God. The congregation dished out some coins and notes to at least enliven his mood.
