Monday
19th August 2013 - Police in Ongata Rongai have
launched a manhunt for a middle aged man who strangled his girlfriend to death
over the weekend after they had a domestic squabble.
On the sad day, the woman returned late from work as was the
norm over the weekends but the man was not happy and picked a quarrel with her.
Eyewitnesses said that they heard the couple exchanging
harsh words at around 9pm. The man was heard complaining that the woman had
come home late and suspected she was having an affair with another man.
The woman, known to many as Caro defended herself saying
that she came late because she had lots of work to do bearing in mind that it
was a weekend. She tried to explain to her that it was during the weekends that
she could afford to make extra cash but the man could not listen.
The area police boss who confirmed the incident said that
the man twisted the woman’s neck until she died before escaping. Police
officers are looking for him.
The police boss urged couples to always solve their
differences maturely rather than engaging in fights.
