Mumias man held over WIFE’S murder

Wednesday, December 05, 2012 - Police in Mumias are holding a middle aged man who is alleged to have killed his wife following a domestic row on Monday night.

Residents said that the couple who have been married for the past 10 years were always having misunderstandings and often fought in front of their nine year old daughter.

The residents further added that the young girl informed them that her parents were having a fight the previous night and her mother was still sleeping which worried the young mind.

Curios neighbors went to the house where they found the 33 year olds body lying on their bed. Her body had severe injuries and according to the area police boss George Seda the woman was killed by a blunt object on her head.

Her husband was however missing from the scene of the incident; police launched a manhunt and cornered him at Tingare location in Siaya. He is still being questioned on the same as investigations are conducted.

Seda said he will be arraigned in court for the charges of murder after investigations are completed; the body of the woman was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital mortuary.
