Monday 19th
August 2013 -
Three suspected robbers were on Saturday night shot dead by police in
Kawangware Estate in Nakuru County.
The
trio had attempted to rob two people off their valuables when they were
arrested.
According
to Nakuru OCPD, Muinde Kioko, the two were in the company of three others who
managed to escape from the police using a private car they had. Kioko said that
the officers were acting on a tipoff from the public and that was why they
managed to kill the two.
The
OCPD said that the police had tracked the thugs for over two weeks without
success. They were classified as the most dangerous criminals in the town.
A
ceska pistol with 17 rounds of ammunition was recovered from the bodies.
Kioko
thanked the locals for being cooperative and encouraged them to provide more
information to the police to help arrest more robbers.
The
bodies were taken to Nakuru Municipal Mortuary.
