The young man known as Isaac Kutwa was suspected of being part of a gang of armed robbers that terrorised residents a few days ago killing an Administration Police Officer attached to the Kamukuywa D.O’s office.
Kutwa was arrested at the market wearing clothes belonging to a dead person who was the latest victim of a recent robbery attack in the village that left scores injured.
Members of the public raised an alarm and started stoning him only for three officers who were on patrol to rescue him. They locked him in a local police station but the angry mob forced their way there and started throwing stones at the cell prompting the Administration Police officers to transfer him to Kimilili Police Station in Land Rover.
However, the mob did not give up. Determined for his blood, they blocked the road leading to the station and demanded that the suspect be handed to them for instant justice.
Fearing for his life the suspect decided to jump unaware that he was now jumping into the real fire. The mob chased him and cornered him in a maize plantation where they stoned him to death.
