An honest letter to RAILA AMOLO ODINGA

Onyango Ochieng Jr.

Dear Raila,

2 years ago, you coined a phrase that has come to literary colonize 2013 presidential discussions. In it, you used the allegory of a 2 horse race & likened the rest to donkeys ,in thy words 'farasi ni mbili, zingine ni punda'. Today, we will witness the marriage of your horse & a donkey, which the result is obviously a mule which experts will tell you is sterile.

I hold deep respect for Gallup Pollsters & in their last findings you scored 32%,Kalonzo 5% ,Wetangula had about 0.8% & Wamalwa 2% which makes a total of 39.8% (37.8% if EW doesn't join).

However Uhuru scored 26% & Ruto 15% which makes about 41%. In the last election the biggest chunk of your votes came from the R/V. With Uhuru making Ruto his R/M & you going for Kalonzo, do you have a Turnaround Strategy to convince the Kalenjins?

Bear in mind the provisions of the new constitution.

Let me trip you back the memory street to 2002, you said 'Mudavadi was the chief engineer of the Goldenberg ghost', 2007 you struggled before the public eye in your enterprise to pull him from the dead like Jesus did to Lazarus 2000 yrs ago in Bethany thus making ODM shift beyond the reforms narrative to 'kuleta wakenya pamoja', a topic you've made your bubblegum but has completely lost meaning since its application is not universal.

When you meet Kalonzo & a few people here & there its 'Kuleta Wakenya Pamoja' but when your opponents Ruto ,Uhuru,Mwakwere, Balala et al meet its 'Ukabila'. That tune is bereft of logical salts.

When Kalonzo went on his shuttle diplomacy & to become the SULTAN OF INDECISION including 2007 mischief, you always poked fun hurling all available venom on him, today in a 'coup de théâtre' we your diehard supporters will become MOCKINGBIRDS of your changed tune on Kalonzo, a redux of the 'Janus-faced' move in 2007 when you swallowed back your 2002 accusations on Musalia.

Anyway, in your calculations bear in mind that a big percentage of Kenyans are getting 'ignorance proof'.

In round 2,unless you sell the 41 against 1 narrative, I bet it will be your toughest political cliff.

Actually tougher than 2007.Kenyans are getting cleverer. But, maybe I'm wrong. To conclude with a line from a song by Morgan Heritage 'I see nothing to smile about'.

Yours sincerely
