Rejected LOVER kills self in Teso North

Tuesday, December 04, 2012 - ‘Goodbye’ …. these were the last words that a 20 year old man from Teso North said before he committed suicide. Apparently the man committed suicide after his girlfriend rejected him.

Bernard Etyang’s body was found by residents’ yesterday morning dangling from a tree outside his home. A picture of his girlfriend was found stuck on his chest with boldly written words saying ‘goodbye’.

According to a resident, Etyang had been having an affair with a teenager and their relationship had become known to the girl’s parents who were infuriated with it.

The girl who respected and feared her parents ended their relationship abruptly causing Etyang a lot of pain.

He threatened to kill himself though his family took his threats as empty and advised him to get over the breakup since he was young and will one day meet another lover. He however sneaked out of his home at night and hang himself at a mango tree just a few meters from his home in Okuleu village.
