Man sentenced to DEATH for killing friend

Sunday, December 02, 2012 - A middle aged man in Nairobi was sentenced to death for allegedly killing his friend in Nairobi’s Kibera Laini Saba estate. Apparently the man stabbed his friend several years ago which led to his untimely death.

The High court heard that on May 2, 2008, Nicholas Muturi stabbed his friend Mule Muli after a confrontation over a phone. Apparently Muturi had sold the phone to Muli but Muli failed to pay up.


Muturi went to his house in Kibera and demanded payment for the phone or his phone back. After a severe exchange of words, Muturi got out a knife and stabbed him on the chest, Muli bled to death.


The High court Judge Fred Ochieng sentenced Muturi to death on the mitigation that he had premeditated the murder since he had carried with him a knife. The prosecutor called 8 witnesses to testify against Muturi.
