Stanley Thuku had had an argument with his wife who went violent and he started beating her. His wife raised alarm as Thuku tried to slash her with a panga.

His mother heard her cry for help and rushed to the scene of the incident only to be accosted by her son; Kathelwa DO Albert Munari said that Thuku cut his mother with the panga.

She sustained injuries on the neck, legs and hands and was rushed to Maua General Hospital where she is recuperating.

Thuku was later arrested by police and will be arraigned in court once investigations on the case are completed.
