Monday March 26, 2012 - Just a week after Kenya
and Britain’s diplomatic ties were on the brink of death, United Kingdom’s Minister
in charge of Africa and Overseas Territories, Henry Bellingham is in the
country to cool off a diplomatic snarl up, following claims that his government
was seeking to have President Mwai Kibaki indicted over the 2007/8
post-election violence when he exit office.
Speaking at Wetangula’s office on Monday, the UK Minister
for Africa dismissed the alleged UK dossier as non existent and said it was aimed
at tainting the good diplomatic relations between the two countries.
The UK minister for Africa further said that the UK
government have not and will not support any presidential candidate in the next
year general elections.
This visit by UK minister came to heal the diplomatic wounds
opened in Kenya's Parliament by MPs Charles Kilonzo and Aden Duale, on the
leaked dossier that outlined UK's intentions to have the ICC indict President Kibaki
and detain Uhuru Kenyatta and William Ruto, who face charges of crime against
humanity.
The leaked documents also revealed on how the UK government
is scheming to have Prime Minister Raila Odinga's in power after Kibaki’s exit.
