for the old, think twice. Thanks to the digital technology, we have some of the
richest people in the world. The Forbes Magazine compiled a list of the
youngest billionaires who range from 26-34. Have a look at their net worth.
26 years, United
States - Net Worth: $17.5 billion
This Harvard dropout is Facebook’s cofounder and chief
executive. He shared a dinner table with the USA president Barrack Obama and
the late Steve Jobs in his early 20’s and has been praised for creating a
worldwide innovation. Over the last year, the 26-year-old’s fortune surged 238%
to $13.5 billion as investments from firms like Goldman Sachs boosted
Facebook’s valuation to $50 billion.
2. Yang Huiyan
Age: 29, China, net Worth: $4.1 billion
This young Chinese woman got lucky when her father transferred
his holdings in Country Garden Holdings of Guangzhou. This company is one of
China’s largest property developers. It later went public in 2007. Yang
graduated from Ohio State University with a degree in marketing and logistics.
3. Dustin Moskovitz
Dustin has been ranked as the world’s youngest billionaire.
Interestingly, he was Zuckerberg’s Harvard roommate and Facebook’s third
employee. The two buddies dropped out of school and went to work for the social
networking firm full time; he was its first chief technology officer and then
vice president of engineering. The age difference between the two is just eight
days. In 2008, he started Asana, a software company that allows individuals and
small companies to collaborate better.
4. Scott Duncan
28 years, United States, Net Worth: $3.4 billion
Scott is the son to the late Dan Duncan. In March 2010, he
assumed control of his father’s $12.4 billion pipeline empire who passed away
at the age of 77.
5. Yoshikazu Tanaka
34 years, Japan, Net Worth: $2.2 billion
Tanaka is a Japanese who is the founder of Gree -Japan’s
largest social networking site. He is set to expand business in California. The
Forbes Magazine reported, “On global expansion kick–working with
Tencent, largest Internet service portal in China. Stock up 35% in past year.
Started out at Sony; worked for fellow billionaire Hiroshi Mikitani at online
shopping site Rakuten. Left in 2004 to set up Gree at a tech incubator; company
name inspired by American social psychologist Stanley Milgram’s concept of “six
degrees of separation.” Transitioned site into mobile gaming to better compete
with rivals.”
6. Sean Parker
United States, Age: 30, Net Worth: $2.1 billion
Sean is a former Facebook president
and is now Silicon Valley strategist. He owns about 3% on the social media. He
was played by Justin Timberlake in the movie, The Social Network. At
the age of 19, he cofounded Napster, a music sharing service that brought
free music to the masses and helped trigger the record industry’s precipitous
decline.
29 years , United States, Net Worth: $2 billion
Saverin is one of Zuckerberg’s friends
who had luck befall on him after they started Facebook at Harvard. He received
a 30% stake in the company. However, the two had a fallout when Facebook sued
Saverin for allegedly interfering with business and insisting on keeping 30%
stake. Saverin countersued and the parties settled, Saverin apparently
getting a 5% stake and a cofounder bio on Facebook’s site. Rumor has it that Saverin
has been selling shares and now holds 2%.
8. Albert von Thurn und Taxis
27 years, Germany, Net Worth: $2 billion
Albert officially inherited fortune
in June 2001, on his 18th birthday. The German young man lives in a family
castle in Schloss Emmeram. He has an M.A. in economics and theology from the
University of Edinburgh in Scotland. He aims at building one of the world’s
largest solar farms in Bavaria, southern Germany, to sell electricity. So what
does he own? Real estates, art and a tech company, 30,000 hectares of woodland
in Germany.
9. Ayman Hariri
32 years, Lebanon, Net Worth: $1.5 billion
The brother to Fahd, who is son of slain Lebanese Prime Minister
Rafik Hariri. The Forbes Magazine reported, “Ayman sits on the board of Saudi
Oger, a construction, telecom and real estate conglomerate. Oversees group’s
construction division, which is behind mega projects such as Princess Noura
Bint Abdulrahman University for Women and King Abdullah Financial District.
Sits on the board of 3C Telecommunications, a South African mobile operator
which is majority-owned by Saudi Oger.”
10. Fahd Hariri
Age: 30, Lebanon, net Worth: $1.5 billion
Fahd is the youngest son of slain Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik
. After his father’s death in 2005, Hariri inherited stake in his father’s
construction, telecom and real estate conglomerate Saudi Oger. He now lives in
Paris. Together with his family, they own Future TV, a satellite and
terrestrial television network covering the Middle East.
