Thursday March 08, 2012 - A 65 old man from Tigania East in Meru County was killed by his
elder son following a land disagreement.
Joseph Lima Mweru was accosted by his
29 year old son with an axe demanding that he be given his share of the land in
the family. He hit his father twice with an axe.
According to neigbours who rushed to
the scene after the man’s wife raised an alarm, the man died instantly.
Neigbours who turned up after the
alarm roughed up the killer and he was saved by a local police reservist who
threatened the irate mob with a gun.
The killer was taken to Tigania police
station where he is awaiting trial after police complete investigations.
